Current Version Plugin Microsoft Office 2013

Microsoft Office 2013 is 15th version of Microsoft Office productivity suite for Windows. MS Office 2013 is suitable for IA-32 and x64 systems.

Development of this version started in 2010 and it was released to manufacturing on October 11, 2012. It requires Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 or later version of Microsoft Windows.

Office 2013 includes extended file format support, user interface updates, and support for touch. Windows RT devices are bundled a version of Office 2013.

When Office 2013 is installed in Windows PC, a web browser plugin is also installed. This plugin allows users to have a better experience with Microsoft Sync, SharePoint etc.

With Office 2010, Microsoft started offering Office Web Apps, which includes free online versions of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft OneNote. This plugin allows documents to be opened directly from web browser into the appropriate Office desktop application.

If you click Word in Web App, clicking Open in Word results in the document being opened in Microsoft Word in your computer. When you save document in Word, it is also saved at web location where it was opened.

This plugin is not recognized by Firefox and may show warning of being outdated. Manual update is not possible with this plugin as this is a part of MS Office suite. It will be updated with Office updates.
