Winamp supports a range of audio file formats and includes cool features for customizing skins, adjusting the equalizer, etc. It also has many plugins available for added functionality.



With the Winamp detector plugin, the browser can play supported media files directly on the desktop Winamp application. The media player also supports live streaming of music files from the internet.

Install/Upgrade info: The current version of the Winamp Detector plugin can be downloaded and installed from the link given below. Restart the browser after installation. It can be checked out in the plugin list on respective browsers. For example, on Chrome, entering chrome://plugins will bring up the list.

If you do not want the plugin enabled, you can click the Disable button in the list. You can remove the plugin manually too by going to the browser directory and searching for the npwachk.dll file and deleting it. On Firefox, the file is found in the extensions subfolder.

In case the Winamp detector plugin is installed but does not seem to work, try the following in this order:

Restart the browser
Restart Winamp
Restart your computer
Uninstall Winamp and reinstall the latest version.
