RealJukebox was released by ReanNetworks for organizing digital music in 1999. In 2001 it was integrated into RealPlayer.

The RealPlayer plugin enables playback of video media through your Firefox browser. Some sites require the use of the RealPlayer plugin in order to view their content.

RealPlayer is cross-platform media player which was very popular in early internet days as streaming media player. But lost its popularity to Windows Media Player and Flash.

RealPlayer supports majority of media formats, additional format support can be added using plugins. RealPlayer has a wide variety of plug-ins. Some of the plug-ins are listed at the RealPlayer accessories page, but not all.

• Audio: MP3 (*.mp3, *.mp2, *.mp2, *.m3u), CD Audio (*.cda), WAV (*.wav), AAC/aacPlus v1 (*.aac, *.m4a, *.m4b, *.mp4, *.acp, *.m4p), Apple Lossless, AIFF (*.aif, *.aiff), AU Audio Files (*.au), Panasonic AAC (*.acp)

• Real Alternative is a software bundle that allows users to play RealMedia files without installing RealPlayer, but now discontinued.
