Current Version Plugin Windows Presentation Foundation

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is one of presentation application which allows us to view multimedia content using web browser to develop user experience like user interface, documents and advanced media.
This plugin is an part of Windows update, it will automatically installed when we update Windows online. WPF is included in the Microsoft .NET Framework. Both of them enable XAML browser applications called XBAP, which Microsoft’s alternative to Java Framework with some Active X functionality.



How to install Current Version Plug-in Windows Presentation Foundation?


As I mention in the first this plugin automatically install when we update Microsoft Windows,  but if you want install manually you must reinstall .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. Then, you must permit XBAP applications and add support for it for plugin to work properly. After that you must enable the plugin in your Firefox.

Here is a quick review of installation instructions :

  • Install latest .NET Framework
  • Enable XBAP applications
  • Once installed, enable the plugin from Firefox plugin menu

For some security issue, Mozilla Firefox blocked WPF because this plugin has vulnerability that can be exploited by malicious websites update. So you must manually enable it. However, Microsoft already fix this issue when their launch new Windows update. As of now, you can install the current version plugin of WPF in your Firefox browser without any issues.
